Immersive Leadership Lab · Tlaxcala

People do not follow titles.

They follow the ones who create stability when things get uncertain.

A 6-day experiential leadership program in Tlaxcala, Mexico for managers and leadership teams who want to see how they actually communicate, decide, and lead when the usual structures disappear.

Designed for international companies in Querétaro and Puebla, Mexico.

Tlaxcala, Mexico 6 days 6–12 participants Starting from US$2,500 per person
The leadership problem

Inside the office, people can hide behind roles, routines, and job titles.

But in the mountains, that protection disappears.

The group gets tired. The plan changes. The environment is unfamiliar. Nobody knows exactly what happens next.

That is when different behavior appears.

Some people become calmer. Some adapt quickly. Some create trust inside the group.

Others panic when plans change. Look for someone to blame. Become controlling when they feel uncertain. Or spread stress through the team instead of stability.

That is what the Immersive Leadership Lab is designed to reveal. The mountains, the cultural contrast, and the intentionally created scenarios remove the usual layers of control.

What stays hidden in the office becomes easier to see.

That’s what our Leadership Lab is about. The mountains, the cultural contrast, the intentionally set scenariois – it reveals what stays hidden in the office.

Core belief

Leadership is not control.

Many professionals mistake control for leadership. As long as everything goes according to plan, this illusion works.

But real leadership starts when conditions change, fear enters the group, validation disappears, plans fail, and nobody fully knows what happens next.

A mountain does not care about job titles.

A cave does not care about certificates.

Discomfort reveals what is actually there.

Why this works

Who you believe you are matters less than how you behave when things get difficult.

Inside offices, people can maintain professional identities for years.

Nature removes that protection.

During a summit hike, a cave experience, a rappel descent, or an unfamiliar cultural setting, different things become visible:

This is why experiential environments matter.

The wilderness exposes real behavior faster than theory ever can.

Without reflection, this would be adventure. With reflection and business translation, it becomes leadership development.

What participants train

Five core leadership capacities.

Perception

Recognizing what is actually happening under pressure instead of reacting from habit.

Decision-Making

Acting clearly despite uncertainty, fatigue, and incomplete information.

Communication

Navigating tension without spreading fear through the group.

Self-Regulation

Remaining grounded during stressful situations.

Responsibility

Leading without controlling others.

About Lakaan Travel

Created from the contrast between German structure and Mexican adaptability.

Lakaan Travel was founded by Katrin Schrimpf, a German entrepreneur living in Mexico since 2017. After seven years in Oaxaca, she’s now based in Querétaro.

Before moving to Mexico, Katrin worked as a researcher at a global data company after studying sociology in Germany.

Germany trains people to prepare, optimize, and control. Mexico constantly demands adaptability, presence, and trust when life does not follow the plan.

That contrast became the foundation of Lakaan Travel.

FAQ

Questions companies usually ask first.

No. It can strengthen the team, but the purpose is deeper than team bonding. This is a leadership development experience designed to reveal behavior under pressure and translate those observations into workplace leadership.

The experience is designed with local outdoor expertise and responsible planning. Participants receive clear information before the program. Outdoor activities always depend on weather, safety conditions, and participant readiness.

Participants should have a basic level of physical fitness and be willing to engage in outdoor activities. The program includes physical challenge, but it is not designed as an extreme sports expedition.

The program is especially relevant for companies and leadership teams in Queretaro and Puebla because of the logistical proximity to Tlaxcala. Other companies in Mexico can inquire as well.

We provide the program in Spanish, English, and German. The language can be agreed depending on the group.

The journey includes a mix of carefully selected accommodations in Tlaxcala and the surrounding mountain regions: a comfortable city hotel, mountain cabins near La Malinche, a small boutique hotel in Tlaxco, and a forest-style lodge.

The focus is not luxury resort comfort. It is comfort, safety, atmosphere, and proximity to the environments we work with.

Depending on the location, amenities may include private rooms or cabins, private bathrooms, WiFi, hot water, breakfast or restaurant access, fireplaces, green areas, and spaces for rest and reflection.

Each accommodation is chosen to support the rhythm of the experience: arrival, physical challenge, cultural immersion, integration, and return.

Fill out the inquiry form. Lakaan Travel will clarify your group size, goals, dates, expectations, and whether this experience is the right fit.
