UNTAMED

9 days in Mexico for women who are done living from fear.

A small-group retreat for the woman who is tired of functioning, overthinking, adapting, and calling it being strong.

January 29 – February 7, 2027
Cancún + Akumal
Maximum 8 Women
German + English

THIS IS NOT A WELLNESS VACATION

You do not come here to become someone else.

You come here to feel the woman underneath the fear.

YOU KNOW THIS IS NOT THE WHOLE STORY

Maybe your life looks fine from the outside.

You handle things. You make decisions. You keep going.

Somewhere underneath all of that is a woman who wants to live differently. More honestly. More embodied. More alive. More connected to her own desire, rhythm, and truth.

Your body knows before your mind is ready to listen.

This retreat is for you if

You are ready to stop abandoning yourself.

This retreat is not for you if

You only want to escape for a few days.

The core of UNTAMED

Self-trust instead of constant self-control.

01

Mind off. Body on.

Come back into your body through movement, awareness, water, nature, ceremony, and sensory experience. Not to perform. To feel what is real before your mind explains it away.

02

Feel your aliveness again.

Anger, grief, desire, joy, fear, pleasure, and longing all belong to being alive. UNTAMED creates space to let life move through you again instead of controlling how much you are allowed to feel.

03

Be real.

Feel what is actually yours: your yes, your no, your limits, your desire, and your next step. Not the version that looks good. The version that is true.

What you will experience

Body, nature, culture, ceremony, and honest encounter.

UNTAMED combines body awareness, emotional & energetic work, honest group spaces, Mexican culture & wisdom, water, stillness, reflection, and carefully curated local experiences.

Feeling instead of overthinking. Living instead of functioning.

The Journey

Nine days from arrival to integration.

Each day has a clear intention, with enough space for the experience to land.

Day 1 Arrival Arrive in Cancún, settle into the villa, meet the group, and share a welcome dinner.

We begin slowly. There is no pressure to perform and no need to be anyone. The first task is simply to arrive.

Day 2 Back into the body Body awareness and a traditional Aztec ceremony.

Notice where you hold tension, where you control, where you protect, and where life wants to move again.

Day 3 Feel yourself Sunrise, Caribbean water, kayaking, cacao, and dance.

Reconnect with your senses, rhythm, joy, and presence. You do not need to force aliveness. You need to stop blocking it.

Day 4 No pressure A free day to rest, explore, feel, and let the first experiences land.

Notice what you need when nobody is telling you what to do. Optional additional experiences can be booked.

Day 5 Meet yourself A Mexican market experience and Mayan massage.

Move deeper into the body, the senses, and the emotional layers underneath your usual control.

UNTAMED · WATER · JUNGLE · BODY · TRUTH
Day 6 Flow A day in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.

Untouched nature, water, silence, and vastness. Practice moving with experience instead of controlling every moment.

Day 7 Follow yourself No schedule and no fixed goal.

A day to feel what you want without expectations, roles, or performance. Optional additional experiences can be booked.

Day 8 Be seen Cenote, photo shoot, and expression.

Trust your own expression and allow yourself to be seen in your most honest version, rather than the polished or controlled one.

Day 9 Take with you what stays Snorkeling, reflection, and a shared closing.

Name what has changed and what you are taking home. The point is not simply to have a beautiful experience, but to return differently.

January 29 – February 1

Villa Zona Hotelera

We begin in a private villa in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, between the Caribbean Sea and the lagoon. This is the place to arrive, connect, and open up to the water and bright light.

February 2 – February 7

Villa Tortugas, Akumal

A quiet jungle property with five separate cabanas and a pool. Here the retreat becomes deeper and more instinctive. The outside noise drops, and your own voice gets louder.

Why work with Lakaan Travel

You bring the vision. I help make it real in Mexico.

Katrin studied sociology and worked as a data researcher in Germany before moving to Mexico in 2017. There, she began working as a tour guide for German travel agencies and designing experiences that brought people closer to the places, cultures, and communities they were visiting.

In 2024, she founded Lakaan Travel to create journeys and retreats with more depth, intention, and personal relevance. Along the way, she built a trusted network of local partners and learned what it takes to turn a strong idea into an experience that works on the ground.

Katrin also runs a personal branding agency, so she understands that a retreat is part of a bigger body of work. It needs to fit the host’s message, speak to their audience, and feel unmistakably theirs.

Testimonials

“Katrin helped me turn the idea of an art retreat in Oaxaca into reality.”

After traveling to Oaxaca and experiencing the creative energy that place holds as an artist, I came up with the idea of hosting an art retreat for my artist community there.

Katrin helped me bring this dream to life and created a very special itinerary through her amazing network of local artists and artisans, as well as her profound understanding of the area and culture.

Together, we created an 8-day experience focused on paper making and art that not only inspired our retreat guests, but changed their approach to the materials they use and the connection to themselves and their creations.

The first Oaxaca Art Retreat went so well that we offered a second edition, which sold out very quickly.

“This was not a typical tourist trip.”

I was part of the Queen Rising Mexico journey in April 2026.

At first, I thought I was simply doing something a little crazy. I had no idea how intense this journey would become for me.

This retreat was not a typical tourist trip. Every place we visited, every person we met, and every experience we had was intentionally chosen — to face our fears, learn to let go of control, and trust.

Through this journey, I discovered completely new facets of myself. I realized what I am capable of and what it actually means to feel.

The encounter with the Mazatec healer Carmen in the mountains of Oaxaca, the cave expedition, dolphins in the Pacific, the cacao ceremony with a fire on a quiet beach — these are experiences I am deeply grateful for, and their value is hard to measure in money.

This journey truly did something with me.
